MARCELO SIMIAN has vast experience in Civil, Labor and Criminal Litigation and in Arbitrations in general.
Previously, he served as Director of Legal Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine and the Clinical Hospital of the Catholic University of Chile (1998-2000), and as an associate of Estudio Carvallo (2000-2006). He was self-employed (2006-2011) and then returned to Estudio Carvallo as Chief Lawyer of the Liability Division, from December 2011 to present.
He went to Law School at the University of Los Andes. He holds a diploma in “Torts” from the University of Chile, and a Diploma in “Health Law” from the University of Los Andes. He has taken several courses and attended updating and specialization seminars.
In the academic area, he has been guest professor of “Legal Medicine” (pre-degree of the Medicine School of the Catholic University), and Professor of “Liability” at the Insurance School of Chile. He has been lecturer in a number of conferences, speeches and seminars on Insurance, Liability, Sanitary Law and Work Accident matters.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar and of the International Association of Insurance Law, AIDA - Chile.
