MARÍA ELENA RIVERA starts out as lawyer for the law firm Carvallo y Acosta A.A.L. in 1997. In 2000, she took over as manager of Estudio Carvallo’s Valparaiso office.
Her practice focuses on Maritime Law, Pollution, Damages Law and General Liability.
She went to Law School at the Adolfo Ibáñez University. In 1996, she received a prize for having obtained the highest grades in the promotion 1991- 1995. In 1997, she received a prize for having obtained the highest grade of the degree that year. In 1998, she graduates as lawyer.
She has served as assistant professor and as regular professor of Commercial and Economic Law, Law and Business; Business and Law, among others, at the Adolfo Ibañez University. She has served as professor of specialized Diploma studies at the Adolfo Ibáñez University, University of Concepción and Catholic University of Valparaíso. She has given conferences and speeches on matters of her specialty.
She is a member of the Valparaiso Bar, advisor for the Council of such Bar since 2009 to present. She currently serves as executive secretary for such Council.
